The Creepiest Cocktails From Beverage Experts

Published on:

October 8, 2024

Boo! Did we scare you? We hope you're soaking up all the cozy vibes of autumn—whether it’s picking pumpkins, visiting haunted houses, or indulging in the time-honored traditions of the season. As Beverage Architects, we’re always ready to shake up something special to match the mood. After all, what better way to celebrate than with a drink in hand? We’ve brewed up a list of seasonal cocktails (and one bewitching mocktail) to elevate your Halloween parties and sweater-weather gatherings. Get ready to toast to the season with spirits from the bar... and beyond, with the Creepiest Cocktails From Beverage Experts.

The Bloody Mary

No Halloween drink list would be complete without a nod to the classic breakfast cocktail: The Bloody Mary. But don’t worry, unlike the eerie legend, you won’t need to chant her name to summon this spooky sip! Instead, just gather your bar tools and follow this simple recipe:

  • Rim a tall rocks glass with Tajin
  • Pour 1 ½ oz vodka
  • Add 5 oz of your favorite Bloody Mary Mixer
  • Stir and fill with ice
  • Garnish with a lime wedge and a skewer of olives, cheese, and cherry tomatoes

Prefer mixing from scratch? No problem! While we love the ease of a shelf-stable mixer, the traditional method works great, too. If you're feeling creative, you can experiment with your garnishes—bacon, celery, pickles, fruits, even candy! And if you're really looking to give your taste buds a fright, a few dashes of hot sauce will add the perfect devilish kick to your brew.

The Beetlejuice

Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice… Beetlejuice? Don’t worry, at the Beverage Campus, saying “Beetlejuice” three times won’t summon any mischievous spirits—just a fruity gin cocktail! Much like its namesake, this concoction is deceptively charming. Despite its spooky green hue, it’s sure to win over your guests. Here’s how to conjure up this ghoulish delight:

  • Rim a short rocks glass with black salt
  • Pour 1 ½ oz gin (we used blue gin for an eerie color effect)
  • Add 1 oz sour apple liqueur
  • Pour ½ oz lime juice
  • Add 3 oz pineapple juice
  • Stir well and add ice
  • Garnish with a lime

For a creepy-cool twist, we served this in laboratory beakers rimmed with oozing black icing to “zombie-fy” the presentation. You can also add edible glitter, floating spooky garnishes, or anything else that haunts your imagination!

The Sober Witch

This one’s for the sober souls and mocktail enthusiasts who want to enjoy a hex-free potion! This herbal, citrusy, and oh-so-refreshing tonic will bring some magic to your coven—without the bewitching effects of alcohol. Dust off your potion books because we’re about to brew up a pure enchantment spell.

  • Choose your favorite goblet
  • Pour 1 oz of your non-alcoholic spirit of choice (we love using N/A gin!)
  • Add ½ oz lavender syrup
  • Pour in 4 oz lemonade
  • Stir and add ice
  • Top with sparkling water
  • Garnish with a lemon slice

For extra magic, add some purple edible glitter, try flavored sparkling water, or sprinkle in lavender or rose petals to elevate your potion. The Sober Witch will surely charm all who sip it

Pumpkin Spice Espresso Martini

Put down your pitchforks and torches—no more drinkable monsters are headed your way. Our final cocktail is a tribute to the cozy spirit of autumn: changing leaves, sweater weather, and moments shared with good company. We’ve combined two beloved classics to create a decadent, seasonal delight—the Pumpkin Spice Espresso Martini!

  • Grab a cocktail shaker or mixing glass
  • Add 2 tsp pumpkin puree
  • Sprinkle in a few dashes of pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, or nutmeg
  • Pour 1 oz vodka
  • Add 1 ½ oz coffee liqueur
  • Pour 1 ½ oz hot espresso
  • Add 1 oz of your preferred creamer (we used half & half)
  • Fill with ice and shake or stir until fully combined
  • Strain into a martini glass
  • Dust with nutmeg and garnish with coffee beans

This rich and comforting cocktail will settle your spirits as the days get cooler—a perfect way to toast to the flavors of fall.

And there you have it—four enchanting libations to meet all your fall festivities, cravings, and cocktail needs. Just don’t let the goblins and ghouls get to you before you sip to Spooky Season! Cheers!
