Flavored Wines

Who doesn't love unwinding with a glass of your favorite wine? Wine is an alcoholic beverage that is made from various fermented fruits, such as plum, cherry, pomegranate, blueberry, currant, elderberry, and, of course, grapes. This delicacy has evolved into several different variations, like flavored fortified wine and more. If you want to innovate the typical wine-tasting palette with flavored wine, partner with Flavorman!

History

Flavored Wines

The history of wine is more decadent than the glass itself! The earliest known traces of wine are from Georgia in 6000 BCE. Throughout history, wine has been used for its intoxicating effects and ritualistic purposes. The drinking of wine has a history book's worth of lore, which has gradually evolved into the many variations available today.

Given its vast history and tradition, wine has become one of the most sought-after alcoholic beverages in the commercial space. The modernization of winemaking technology has allowed for better, more consistent products and the innovation of wine as a beverage profile. Wine coolers, fortified wines, and wine-based RTDs are examples of the vast possibilities within this category and have also proven quite lucrative!

Key Considerations

  1. Flavor-fortified wines typically have high sugar content, but our Beverage Architects can adjust this if you are hoping to advertise a low-sugar or caloric serving.
  2. Some brands aiming to create an RTD Cocktail, Malt-Based Beverage, or Seltzer will use wine as a base for easier regulatory processes. Wine is also cheaper than using a base spirit and allows for more flavor flexibility.
  3. Flavorman offers services for wineries seeking flavor balancing and analysis to improve their product. Check out our Analytical and Flavor Service pages to learn more about these offerings!
