Since 1776, Americans have celebrated our nation’s independence with fireworks, baseball games, carnivals, and the like. While this year’s festivities might look a little different than those of years past, we can still count on good food and great drinks to raise our spirits.

This drink takes a little more time to make, but the results are guaranteed to be as tasty as they are Instagram-worthy! This recipe uses an assortment of fruit combinations to create red and blue layers separated by a white sheet of fluffy lemon yogurt. Yum!
July 4th Lunch Drinks
It’s not a proper July 4th celebration unless you’re spending as much time as possible outside. Of course, all that time outdoors can make you thirsty! Luckily, we’ve got you covered.
What’s better to sip by the pool than something sweet, frozen, and garnished with fruit? There are plenty of easy-to-make, healthy and kid-friendly slushie recipes to enjoy, and they come in all kinds of summertime flavors – strawberry, mango, peach, watermelon, you name it.
The best part is that any slushie can also be made into a delicious grown up version – just add your favorite spirits. Craving a Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri? Just blend together some light rum with frozen strawberries and lime juice, then try to stop yourself from re-filling your glass.
You know what else always seems to hit the spot on a warm summer’s day? Lemonade.
Because sour and tart flavors stimulate the salivary glands more than any other taste, lemonade provides immediate relief for dry mouth and can leave you feeling refreshed. It’s scientifically designed to be thirst-quenching!

July 4th Dinner & Dessert Drinks

For dessert, you can finish out the day with a summertime favorite – milkshakes! Keep it classic with this recipe for a vanilla milkshake, made patriotic with the addition of red and blue food coloring which can be used to create the different layers. It’s also super easy to customize with add-ins and toppings, from sprinkles and chocolate chips, to peanut butter and fudge. Just don’t forget the whipped cream!
If you’re looking for something a little more sophisticated, we recommend this decadent and completely vegan Grilled Cherry Milkshake. It takes a little prep, so you’ll need to start by using an ice tray to freeze full-fat coconut milk into cubes, then blend those together with vanilla extract and agave nectar or honey. To prepare the star of the drink, just fire up the grill to char some de-stemmed and de-pitted cherries. Add the grilled cherries to the sweet, creamy drink for a tart, smokey flavor twist.
