Ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktails are alcoholic mixed beverages that are sold pre-mixed, with the idea that the customer can simply open, pour, and serve. This way, the consumer does not need to worry about balance, technique, or having a collection of ingredients at their home bar. History
RTD cocktails are not an innovation of recent years; they actually date all the way back to the 1800s. A pair of hotel owners known as the Heublein Brothers crafted bottled martinis and began selling them to patrons of bars and restaurants in 1892.
